Editorial Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Call Out News aims to publish useful, timely journalism while making clear where information comes from, what is editorial, and what is paid.
Accuracy and verification
We aim to represent material facts accurately and in context. When a story relies on another publisher, official statement, public record or other external source, we aim to attribute that information appropriately. Developing stories may be updated as reliable new information becomes available.
Headlines and context
Headlines should fairly reflect the substance of the story. We avoid knowingly presenting rumours, satire or unverified claims as established fact. Where uncertainty is material, the article should communicate that uncertainty.
Sources and aggregation
Call Out News may report on information first published elsewhere. Aggregation should add value through selection, synthesis, context or explanation rather than simply reproducing another publisher’s work. We aim to identify originating sources and link to them when practical. Copyrighted material should be quoted only to the extent appropriate for reporting and commentary.
Corrections and updates
If we learn that a published story contains a material factual error, we aim to correct it promptly. Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or clarity edits may be made without a correction note. Material corrections should be made transparently when appropriate. Readers can report a concern through our Contact page.
Opinion, analysis and sponsored content
Opinion or analysis should not be presented as straight news when the distinction would matter to a reasonable reader. Advertising, partner material and sponsored stories should be clearly labelled and visually distinguishable from independent editorial coverage.
Conflicts and independence
Editorial decisions should be made for journalistic reasons rather than as a condition of an advertiser relationship. Contributors should avoid undisclosed conflicts that could reasonably call the integrity of coverage into question.
Images, media and attribution
Images and other media should be used with an appropriate licence, permission, attribution, public-domain basis or other lawful justification. Captions and credits should not knowingly misrepresent what an image depicts.
Automation and editorial responsibility
Digital tools may assist with newsroom workflows, research, formatting or production. Regardless of the tools used, Call Out News remains responsible for the material it publishes and for applying its editorial standards.
Feedback
We welcome specific, good-faith concerns about accuracy, attribution or editorial standards. Please include the article URL and the issue you want reviewed on our Contact page.
