The Montreal Canadiens made a request to increase capacity during home games at the Bell Centre

On Monday, the Montreal Canadiens will be playing against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Golden Knights were allowed to host at full capacity since Thursday night and they had 18,149 fans attended the series-clinching win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Reported by CBC, the Montreal Canadiens have made a request to increase capacity during the home games at the Bell Centre. The Canadiens will host the Golden Knights for Games 3 and 4 of its Stanley Cup semifinal series on June 18 and 20.

Quebec has permitted 2,500 fans at the Bell Centre since Game 6 against Toronto Maple Leafs. It said in an emailed statement Friday the request is being analyzed and no timetable was given for when a decision might come.

A spokesman for the hockey club did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
