Suez Canal: Ever given container ship has been freed

The Ever Given container ship was dislodged for a week and Salvage teams have reported that the massive ship has been freed. The ship was wedged into the banks of the Suez Canal and was blocking it completely. It blocked traffic on one of the busiest shipping routes. Each day of blockage delays $400 million in trade.

The giant ship is 1,300 feet long and 193 feet wide with weights more than 200,000 tons.

Salvage Teams managed to move the 200,000-ton container ship. Traffic through Suez Canal has slowly resumed and Ever Given is en route to Rotterdam.
