NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance rover successfully landed on the surface of the Red Planet, Mars. The rover will spend at least the next two years travelling across Mars in search of potential fossil-bearing rocks. All collected rocks will be stored in a sterilized tube. Perseverance is the ninth NASA spacecraft to reach the surface of the Red Planet

HiRISE captured Perseverance during the descent stage.
