Bertram Jaquez was seen in footage obtained by KKTV ordering the 10-year-old girl to cover her face with the mask that was pulled down to her chin — and then slapping her face when she replied, “I don’t care.”
Bertram Arman Jaquez, 63, was arrested Wednesday and charged with misdemeanors including harassment, assault causing injury and child abuse.
A 10-year-old student at Fremont Elementary School says her bus driver hit her because she took her mask down below her nose.
The school district took immediate action by placing the bus driver on paid administrative leave. According to the termination letter, this is the second time the bus driver had physically touched a student out of anger.
