Call Out News: Manila Casino Gunman Steals Gambling Chips and Commits Suicide after Attack

Phillipines police released images of the heavily armed suspect who later commited suicide.

At least thirty-six bodies have been found inside Resorts World Manila, after an attack by a lone gunman who fired shots and set fire to gambling tables before burning himself to death. Fifty people were hurt in the attack – some seriously – as they rushed to escape.

Most of the victims were women who were found dead inside the bathroom and died of suffocation from the fires.

Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said: “All indications point to a criminal act by an apparently emotionally disturbed individual.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack, according to terror-monitoring website SITE. But the local police said the incident appeared to be an armed robbery carried out by a lone gunman – with the gunman trying to steal gambling chips. A white English-speaking man storms complex, starts a fire and steals casino chips, then sets self on fire with gasoline in hotel room.

All guests had been evacuated.
